2024 Charity Support - Edale Mountain Rescue

Although we are a small club in the scale of Ford Clubs worldwide, as part of our social responsibility pledge, the FTC-GB Club is committed to supporting local and regional charities within the UK.

To this end, we set an ambitious target to raise at least £500 during 2024 and donate it to our chosen charity, Edale Mountain Rescue, who we are proud to support for a second time.

We revealed the total donation amount at the 2024 NEC Show followed by a "big cheque" hand over in Edale... Did we reach £500?. Did we beat the £500 target? Well, you will have to read the 2024 NEC Show writeup to find out...

The FTC-GB is operated and maintained for fans of the Ford Taunus. We offer FREE membership and generate operational income by selling Regalia and Spare Parts to support the running of the Club.

 

About Edale Mountain Rescue

EMR_snowchains-300x300 The Edale Mountain Rescue is an volunteer mountain rescue team, providing a life-saving rapid response emergency service operating within the Peak District National Park.

The charity was formed by Tom Tomlinson and Fred Heardman in 1956 and was originally based in Edale within the Peak District National Park. In 1986 the team moved to their current site at the cement works in Hope.

The team members are on call, day and night, 365 days a year, to help those in need on the hills. All team members are volunteers and as a registered charity they rely solely on donations to fund their work. Edale Mountain Rescue receive no government funding.

Although the FTC-GB is a small club we feel strongly about the value the Edale Mountain Rescue adds to Emergency Response within the Yorkshire area and are proud to offer our support to their charity fundraising.
